The Joyful Balance

the comprehensive wellness visit

This is much more than just a physical.

We will review your active medical conditions, your personal health goals, and together create a comprehensive treatment plan.

What is included?

  • Thorough physical exam and skin check
  • Review of your Health Maintenance list including, but not limited to, cancer screening, immunizations, and advance directives
  • Review of annual lab results
  • Review of active problems, medications and supplements, including review of status, and optimization of each

So often a medication is started and not really addressed again, even if no longer needed; or perhaps a problem can be equally, or better, treated using natural options. This visit gives us the opportunity to explore these topics.

NON-Medicare MEMBER FAQS

Starting January 2026, thanks to the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill (OBBB)”, HSA funds may be used for direct primary care (DPC) memberships

Most insurance plans will not reimburse your membership fee. However, for any service that is not included in your membership-fee, we will provide you an itemized receipt with insurance codes to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Make sure you understand your plan details (and don’t forget about deductibles!).

Our office hours are Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri from 8:00 am- 5:00 pm. We are closed Wed, Sat, and Sun.

If you need to contact us outside of business hours, please do one of the following;

  • If urgent, call the office number and leave a message for immediate callback
  • If non-urgent, please send a message via the portal or call back during business hours.

Direct Primary Care (DPC) is a model of primary care practice, where instead of billing insurance, members pay a recurring fee to access services at reduced cost.

A pure DPC accepts no insurances. A Hybrid DPC accepts and bills at least one insurance.

We are a Hybrid DPC that accepts only Medicare.

Insurances reimburse providers often much less than they are billed. This means that providers need to see more patients to make up for this loss in revenue. This leads to rushed visits, missed opportunities for optimal quality of care, frustrated patients and burned-out healthcare teams.

By taking payments directly from the patient, the DPC provider can assure consistent, timely payment for services, which means lower panel sizes, better access, and more time with each patient. DPC patient and provider satisfaction scores are significantly higher than insurance-only based practices.
